Who Reviews Your Partial Denture Case

A licensed dentist in your state reviews your partial denture case before anything is made. Partials start at $489. Here's how the review works.

If you're ordering a partial denture without sitting in a dental chair, it's fair to ask: who actually looks at my case? Here's the direct answer, followed by each step.

The short answer: a licensed dentist reviews your case

A licensed dentist (DDS) in your state reviews your case before anything is fabricated.

Klyros coordinates the process. Klyros does not practice dentistry. Clinical decisions belong to that dentist. Klyros staff do not review patient photos or approve cases.

That means:

You can think of Klyros as a teledentistry coordination platform. The clinical judgment stays with the dentist.

Step by step: impression kit → lab check → dentist review → fabrication

The full sequence is on How It Works.

  1. You order. Choose Flex or Precision and your arch on the pricing page.
  2. Impression kit arrives. It includes instructions and prepaid return shipping.
  3. You take impressions at home following the instructions, then mail the kit back.
  4. Impression check. Your impressions are checked for whether they're usable for fabrication.
  5. Dentist review. A licensed dentist (DDS) in your state reviews your case and decides whether to prescribe the appliance.
  6. Custom lab fabrication. If approved, your partial is made from your impression.
  7. Shipping. Your finished appliance ships to your door.

Nothing is fabricated before the dentist review.

What happens if your impression isn't usable

Home impressions don't always come out right on the first try. Air bubbles, too little material, or movement while the material sets can make an impression unusable.

Your kit lets you retake impressions if the first set isn't usable. If a returned impression still can't be used, we'll contact you with next steps; nothing is made until there's a usable impression.

Tips for a good first impression:

When we'll tell you to see a dentist in person

An at-home partial isn't right for every mouth. Klyros does not provide in-person exams or local care, and does not treat pain, infection, gum disease, bite problems, or moving teeth.

You should see a local dentist in person, and your case may not proceed, if:

If the dentist declines, that's the system working as intended. It means your mouth needs in-person attention first.

If you develop pain, sores that don't heal, or swelling, stop wearing the partial and see a local dentist.

What the price includes: impression kit with prepaid return shipping, licensed dentist review before fabrication, custom lab fabrication of the appliance you selected, and shipping of the finished appliance.

Pay over time options are available at checkout. Options include the flexible partial and the unilateral partial for one to three teeth on one side.

Why the dentist review matters

Ordering a partial at home works only when the clinical step is real. A partial rests on your remaining teeth and gums and grips the teeth next to the gap. If those teeth are weak, or if gum disease is active, an appliance can make things worse. The review is where that gets caught.

During review, the dentist looks at the information gathered in your case and decides whether to prescribe the appliance you selected. The dentist may decline, and that decision is final for that case. Klyros does not override it, and Klyros staff do not make clinical calls.

What Klyros does, and what it doesn't

Klyros does not:

Being clear about this split is the honest answer to "who reviews my case." A licensed dentist does, and the rest is logistics.

Cosmetic removable appliances are non-surgical, non-permanent dental devices intended for aesthetic enhancement only. They do not move teeth, correct bite alignment, or treat dental disease. All cases are reviewed by a licensed dentist prior to fabrication where applicable. Eligibility is determined at the discretion of the reviewing provider. Results vary by individual case. Appliances are removable and not intended as a substitute for comprehensive dental care. Patients should maintain regular in-office dental examinations and follow the advice of their local dental provider.
